DietPlant based diets are documented to be healthier than the standard American diet (SAD). Vegetarian diets do not include any animal flesh (may include dairy products and eggs) and vegan diets do not include any animal products (including insect products, e.g., honey and red food coloring). Pseudo vegetarian diets that allow the use of poultry (pollo-vegetarians) and fish (pesca-vegetarians)are not true vegetarian diets. Turkey, chicken, and fish are NOT vegetables. They are animals. Adoption of a vegan diet is the most important step an individual can take to help prevent global warming. A study by the United Nations shows that animal agriculture is the greatest contributor to greenhouse gases. Changing to a vegan diet costs the individual consumer nothing - only a change in lifestyle. Besides having heath benefits beyond a cooked food diet, a raw food diet consumes little or no energy in the storage and preparation of the ingredients . Therefore, a raw food diet is very environmentally friendly. Resources - Diet and EnvironmentThis Area Under Construction |
